Dr. Allmon was raised in Spring, Texas and graduated from Westfield High School. After receiving an undergraduate degree in zoology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996, he attended and graduated from medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center Houston in 2000. He then completed his residency at the University of Missouri Department of Family and Community Medicine in 2003. While there he served as chief resident, and after completing his residency training he completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine in 2004. The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri was one of the very first residency programs established in family medicine back in the 1960s, and consistently ranks in the top 10 in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
After completing residency and fellowship, Dr. Allmon joined Sadler clinic in 2004. He left Sadler clinic in 2010 and joined Greater Houston Physicians Medical Association (GHPMA). In 2016 he separated from GHPMA to start his own independent practice, Woodlands Family & Community Medicine, and remains one of the few privately owned practices in the area.
Dr. Allmon is honored to be a family physician. Board certified in family medicine and enjoys treating all ages over 5. In his practice, he values good communication, honesty, education and developing relationships with his patients. He respects each as individuals. He understands that you have a choice in your healthcare, and appreciates the trust you place and him. He believes that his role as your physician is to be an advocate for your best health. That includes providing education on options for diagnostic testing and offering different treatment choices. He strives to provide you with the information you need to make good choices for your health.
Married since 1999, Dr. Allmon and his wife, Shannon, have 3 children whom they adore: Kate, Charlie and David. Dr. Allmon enjoys spending time with family, spending time outdoors, long family trips to national parks, hunting, woodworking, playing the saxophone and UT Longhorn football. He strongly values his faith and is an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church in The Woodlands.
